Trattoria Zaza is a staple of the downtown Birmingham food scene that has been around for over 10 years, located in the Historic Frank Nelson building.  Designing and executing this renovation was a challenge due to the size of the space and the importance of the restaurant to the community.  Owner Bryan wanted to increase the size of the kitchen and dinning room in order to increase their lunch capacity but also to add dinner service to their offering.  The space includes an open kitchen custom upholstered benches fabricated in house.  A challenge in all restaurants is controlling the sound which was accomplished with fabric baffles hung from the ceiling.
